Amir Husni was born in Karanganyar, Central Java, September 21, 1970. Completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in 1996, mastered in Food Science and Technology in 1999 at UGM Graduate School, and earned a Doctor of Science in Applied Marine Biotechnology and Engineering, Gangneung-Wonju National University, South Korea in 2009. The author was appointed for the first time as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture UGM since 1998. The author has expertise in the field of Fishery Product Technology, particularly related to the microbiology of fishery products and natural products. from both freshwater and marine. The research conducted is mainly related to the bioactivities of sea cucumbers and seaweed and their uses. Has been at the UGM Research Institute since 2010 with his last position as Secretary of the UGM Research Directorate from 2015-2017. Apart from being active as a researcher, the writer is also active as a reviewer of research, community service, and national and international journals, as well as one of the administrators in the Indonesian Fishery Products Processing Society (MPHPI).
