Abstract : The most commonly used method in Kansei Engineering or so-called Kansei Engineering Type I uses semantic differential (SD) scale to obtain the emotion through Kansei words. SD, however, is limited in its middle region scale and reciprocity of the two ends. In this study, EEG data are then included in the Kansei Engineering Type I. A framework to adjust the Kansei method was proposed. A case study using a Squishy product was conducted to implement the proposed framework. The results of the case study showed that the framework is applicable and should be further developed for greater use covering many more Kansei words.
