Abstract : The function of image encryptionis to transform known have that meaning to imagesthat cannot be read or irregular images in order tosecurity. Storing the image data in local computersystem will bring some risks on the image security.The aim of this research is to construct an imageencryption system based on Catmap-Rijndaelalgorithm. The system is implemented on a softwareform making students card at Universitas JenderalSoedirman. The result shows that the combination ofCatmap-Rijndael algorithm on bitmap image200x200 pixel by using 3 times repetition of theCatmap algorithm (with parameter a=1 and b=1)can overcome the problem of textured of the objectthat caused by base colour on the image and uniformhistogram of the encrypted image in short timeprocess.
