Abstract | : | Nowadays, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), also known as a drone, have become a common thing that are widely used in various fields, one of them is for Small Format Aerial Photographs (SFAPs) acquisition through aerial photography mission. There are many UAVs that have been accompanied by camera, so it can be used to do aerial photography mission. Moreover, many UAVs are also equipped with the Global Positioning System (GPS) on the aircraft system, for example, DJI Phantom 4. Therefore, SFAPs obtained from the DJI Phantom 4 already have the coordinates of each exposure. Hence it can be used directly to generate Digital Surface Model (DSM) through photogrammetric processing without using additional Ground Control Points (GCPs). However, indeed the accuracy obtained will not be as good as the results of photogrammetric processing that uses additional GCPs. This study aims to examine the accuracy that can be achieved by the DSM generated from the SFAPs of the DJI Phantom 4, without using additional GCPs. The study area covered in the SFAPs includes a part of Bangkel Hill located at Srimulyo Village, Piyungan, Bantul. The aerial photographs processing in this research was done by using one of the software which is commonly used, namely Agisoft PhotoScan Professional which applies the Structure from Motion (SfM) method in its processing. The results of calculation based on 5 Independent Check Points (ICPs) indicate that the DSM generated from the SFAPs without using additional GCPs has absolute accuracy about 42.31982 meters in vertical component but can reach about 2.07356 meters in the horizontal component. |
