Abstract : Gunungapi Kelud is a basaltic andesitic stratovolcano, located 27 km east of Kediri, Indonesia. History states that Kelud has erupted with repeated periods of 9-75 years, causing nearly 160,000 people living in Tulungagung, Blitar and Kediri District to be in high-risk areas. This study aims to map vulnerability to lava flows in Kediri and Malang on a detailed scale. This research makes humans vulnerable, and assesses their vulnerability from four major variables, namely demography, assets, hazards, and land use variables using PGIS (Participatory Geographic Information System). Data were obtained from field checks and some from high resolution satellite imagery and UAVs. The output of this research is village-based vulnerability information that becomes a valuable input for local stakeholders to improve local preparedness in areas prone to improved disaster resilience. The results show that the highest vulnerability to lava flood disaster in Gunungapi Kelud is owned by Pandean Hamlet, Kandangan Hamlet, and Kacangan Hamlet, because these two hamlets are in the dominant high vulnerability position of 3 out of 4 scenarios (economic, social and equal)
