Abstract | : | Land subsidence in Gorontalo Province has caused flood disaster. Disasters caused by hydrometeorological factors always increase every year. Although sometimes they do not cause many casualties, these disasters still damage infrastructure and significantly disrupt the economic stability of the community. Gorontalo is one of the provinces in Indonesia whose poverty rate is below the national poverty rate, and is well known to have a base sector in the primary sector. During the Covid-19 outbreak, national economic growth experiencing a recession in many sectors. In order to determine the impact of the outbreak, this study aims to see any changes in the pattern and structure of economic growth in Gorontalo Province before and during the COVID-19 outbreak, especially in the primary sector. The research also investigates the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on poverty and unemployment rate in Gorontalo Province to measure people’s welfare. Location Quotient (LQ) and Klassen Typology methods were used to determine the pattern and structure of regional economic growth in Gorontalo Province. The result shows the pandemic event has influenced changes in the structure and pattern of the economy of primary sector in Gorontalo Province. |
