Abstract : Purworejo District, located in Central Java, is one of many landslide hazard-prone areas in Indonesia. Landslide is a natural hazard that often occurred in a hilly or mountainous area. Spatial analysis for hazard mapping is needed to develop appropriate mitigation strategies. This paper will elaborate on the use of an evidence-based statistical approach using the Information Value Model (IVM) to conduct landslide hazard mapping. There are eight parameters used in this study, which are a slope, aspect, elevation, rainfall, NDVI, distance from the river, distance from the road network, and distance from the fault. The analysis was conducted based on raster data environment since the pixel is the most appropriate means to represent continuous data. Landslide evidence data was collected by combining secondary data and interpreting satellite imagery to identify old landslides. IVM was successfully calculated by combining landslides predisposing factors and 19 landslide occurrences data. The result yields a landslide susceptibility map which similar to the general assumption that northern and eastern part of Purworejo District is prone to landslide hazard. Moreover, the map also shows a detailed distribution as to which part is more prone than the others.
