Abstract : Food, energy, and water are irreplaceable human's basic needs. In Indonesia, 65% of its population live in the coastal area where they do not have sufficient energy access to conduct their daily activities. The risk of sea-level rise due to climate change is another challenge for those communities. Regarding climate change, Indonesia is predicted to contribute to 573 million tons of CO2 emissions in 2038, coming from power generation. Climate change also affects the quantity and quality of water. Due to its demand for water, Java Island will face the most significant challenge on water scarcity because the water resources cannot meet those demands. It will affect the food security and well-being of the communities. Climate, land-use, energy, water, food (CLEWF)nexus are inseparable because those variables influence the welfare of communities. This paper discussed about challenges in CLEWF analysis based on power generation perspectives in Indonesia. The study concludes that there are four challenges for integrating CLEWF nexus: 1)data availability, 2) supply-demand gap identification, 3)method of analysis and 4) policies integrating variables of CLEWF.
