Abstract : Telah dilakukan penyelidikan konsentrasi gas aseton (C3H6O) secara real time dan in-situ dari gas pernafasan manusia. Penyelidikan gas aseton dimaksudkan untuk fingerprint potensi penyakit diabetes mellitus. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut digunakan tiga kelompok relawan, yaitu kelompok relawan sehat usia muda (< 30> 50 tahun), dan relawan sakit (> 50 tahun). Metode eksperimen yang digunakan adalah metode spektroskopi fotoakustik laser. Metode spektroskopi fotoakustik laser adalah sebuah metode untuk mendeteki konsentrasi gas tertentu dengan memanfaatkan pengubahan tenaga radiasi laser termodulasi yang terserap oleh molekul menjadi sinyal akustik. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan secara nyata adanya perbedaan mencolok antara konsentrasi gas aseton dari relawan sehat usia muda (24 ? 7) ppbv, usia tua (116 ? 22) ppbv dan sakit (296 ? 111) ppbv.
