Abstract : The technology has grown rapidly and its application in many aspects and fields. The education became one of the target of these technology development. As an example is the use of audio-visual technology in effort of increasing the effectiveness in teaching process. This research is aimed to implement a touch-screen method based on Frustrated Total Internal Reflection (FTIR) as an Electronic Blackboard. This system is constructed from acrylic screen, infrared LED, LCD projector, infrared webcam, CCV as image processing software and blackboard application program created with Adobe Flash. The mechanism is quite simple, i.e. when the user’s finger touch the acrylic screen, distortion will occur at the touching point so that the webcam can capture the movement of blob uses CCV, where the CCV’s data is used as an input for the Electronic Blackboard. Result from this research is electronic blackboard manifested in the form of software and hardware. The model is tested with the functional system effectiveness as an electronic blackboard. The test result with the variety of lighting conditions, the system can work optimally in a confined space with non interupting infrared light including the sunlight.
