Abstract : A strategy in managing the resource for the data center that serves trough cloud services have challenges in the big data era. Big data with a multi type of format, type, volume, and process needs to manage with appropriate resources. Data Center infrastructure such as cluster, grid, high-performance computing, and cloud have similar issues on resources capacities and performances. Several strategies for resource allocation was established, from tendering, auction, and commodity. The research investigates and discovers the development of its strategies and the adaptation on big data issues. The study examines there are the main strategies for resource allocation, and its strategies have several approaches and methods of implementation. Most of the implementation based on the performance enhancement, but less from the characteristics. The research contribution is shown there are opportunities to manage the resource based on the features, that promising as big data resource allocation strategy.
