| Abstract | : | The oldest written text in the horizons of Javanese literature is Candrakira?a, in which one of its part, Amaram?l?, has mentioned ‘Indra’ as a king from ?ailendra dinasty. This work is important, because it encloses various elements of prosody, which the authors of kakawin needed them to compose their literature work. For many years, some Javanese scholars had been debating the proper name for this text, by using only one manuscript, LOr 4570, a copy of the Incomplete gebang manuscript from the PNRI, that does not have a prolog nor an epilog part that mentions its exact name. After reading the L 298, lontar of Merapi-Merbabu, this manuscript shows us clearly that the name of this oldest text is Candrakira?a. But is there any relation between the name and the content itself? This article gives pertinent arguments, so that that name proposed can be factually and conceptually accounted for. |
