| Abstract | : | Coastal management is not maximally conducted, one of the reasons is caused by lacking of coordination both in planning and utilizing coastal zones. It can be happened because there is no sufficient information in making decision. In this context, the information which can be referred is a Geospatial Information (GI). Without supported by the GI, Integrated Coastal Management approach becomes difficult to be realized. Therefore, it is important to analyze regulation frameworks and functions of GI in managing coastal zones. This research is a normative legal research with horizontal synchronization level as its scope by analyzing secondary data relating to the GI and coastal zones (both primary and secondary legal materials) collected with a documentary study. Furthermore, the data was qualitatively analyzed. The conclusions are (1) the regulation frameworks of GI administration in managing coastal zones sequentially consist of acquiring Basic Geospatial Data (BGD), processing BGD and Basic Geospatial Information (BGI), storing and securing BGD and BGI, disseminating BGD and BGI, and utilizing BGI; (2) the functions of GI if it is implemented in regulations relating to coastal zones are for the interest of formulating policy, making decision, and implementing activities related with the spatial aspect of the earth. |
