I have been working at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) since 2020. As a research associate for one year, I am now a full-time lecturer (January, 2021) in the Social Development & Welfare Department.
Prior to becoming a lecturer, I worked for approximately two years as a researcher and policy consultant for several private organisations, working on various projects such as policy design, policy consultancy, and regular research.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Social Science (UGM, Indonesia, 2013-18) and a Master in Development Policy (KDI School of Public Policy & Management, South Korea, 2019-20). I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. (in Social Policy) degree at the Department of Sociology & Social Policy, Lingnan University, Hong Kong. My doctoral research is made possible by the generous support of the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme (2021 - 2023) and Belt & Road Scholarship (2021-22). These two schemes are prestigious scholarships in Asia.
In my research, I have explored various topics related to social welfare, institutionalism, political economy, and international influence in Indonesia and East Asia. Moreover, I explored ways to combine political economy and cultural perspectives to describe and analyze social policy in East Asia. I wrote a theoretical book entitled Social Policy in East Asia: Transforming Ideas and Approaches (in Bahasa, 2021, Yogyakarta: Kanisius Press).
My peer-reviewed research is available in Social Policy & Administration (2021), International Journal of Social Welfare (2021), Journal of International and Comparative Social Policy, Cambridge University Press (2022), International Journal of Sociology & Social Policy (2021, 2020b, 2020a, 2022), Journal of Asian Public Policy (2021, 2020, 2019), the International Social Work (2021), Asian Social Work and Policy Review (2019, 2021a, 2021b) and Asia Pacific Journal of Social Work and Development (2021) and Public Administration & Development (2021).
