Wiwit Suryanto received his Ph.D. from Ludwig-Maximilans Universität München, Germany, working with the seismological group in measuring, simulating, and analyzing rotational ground motion derived from array measurements. Currently, he has been working on passive seismic for several practical applications, such as for monitoring volcanic activities, earthquake monitoring, hydrocarbon prospecting, micro-earthquake monitoring for geothermal, and seismic hazard mitigation. He actively supports Indonesian Institutions and companies for research, development, and training as the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, The Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics, the Indonesian Nuclear Agency and Research Technology center PT Pertamina (Indonesian Government Oil Company). He is a member of the EERI, EAGE, AGU, SSA, SEG and now serving as the representative of the Incorporated Research Institution for Seismology (IRIS) for Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia.
